The Occupied Palestinian Territories are those areas of historic Palestine occupied by the state of Israel in June 1967 (i.e. the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including East Jerusalem). They comprise approximately 22 percent of the land of Palestine, which was controlled by the British Mandate authorities prior to 1948.
